As a practicing beautician for many years, I have conducted numerous interviews with many beautiful women on how they maintained such naturally beautiful skin. Free from fine lines, glowing and defy gravity.
More than 80% of these women from different ethnicity esp. Caucasian and Indians would always mention they religiously use facial oil everyday for the last 10-20 years.
Due to the warm and humid weather in Singapore, they generally put facial oil at night and would choose a ‘dry oil’ like rosehip oil, jojoba oil or hazelnut oil which gets absorb into skin without leaving an oily feeling.
How does facial oil help?
Face oils serve to strengthen and protect the natural fat in the skin. Some oils are formulated with Vitamin A, E and a rich blend of omega-6 fatty acids to calm, repair, and protect the skin eg., Maria Galland Omega Oil which can be used as anti aging skin care for all seasons of the year. No wonder, for centuries, people have been using essential oils to maintain health and treat various ailments and conditions. These botanical extracts is often very concentrated and powerful and they’ll always need to be diluted in a carrier oil like jojoba oil.
The top of the list of facial oil is Rosehip Oil. Much fanfare came after Duchess of Cambridge, Gwyneth Paltrow, Victoria Beckham and model Miranda Kerr all mentioned they use rosehip oil to keep their skin smooth and blemish-free.
Rosehip oil is harvested the seeds of rose bushes predominantly grown in Chile. As facial skin care, rosehip oil offers several benefits when applied externally. It protects the skin and increases cell regeneration because it contains vitamin E, vitamin C, vitamin D and B-carotene, a form of vitamin A, and which are all antioxidants that help fight free radicals. Its main benefits include correcting dark spots, reduce scars and fine lines and hydrate dry, itchy skin.
